Hi Noel delves into the enchanting realm of a child's creativity and self-discovery.
A shy young boy named Leon stumbles upon the heart-wrenching possibility that his parents might be on the verge of a divorce. As his parents wrestle with their personal challenges, Leon is left to grapple with feelings of loneliness and hurt that he can't quite comprehend. In this moment of emotional turmoil, Leon's creative spirit ignites, and he creates an imaginary friend called Noel.
Noel is a charismatic and endearing companion and becomes a comforting presence in Leon's life. Together, the two boys set out on a magical adventure that transcends the boundaries of reality and imagination. As their adventures unfold, Leon and Noel concoct a whimsical plan - a delightful and ingenious scheme to rescue his parents’ strained marriage.
This film reminds us that sometimes, amidst life's complexities, the most extraordinary solutions are born from the simplicity of a child's pure and innocent heart. This movie is a fun and heartwarming festive season movie directed by award-winning Singaporean Director, Eric Wong.
Director's Statement
Hi Noel was inspired by my daughter Megan who is now 12. When she was 6, she told us that she has some imaginary friends. We were intrigued with this cute world of friends and thus it inspired me to write and produce this feature. My heart has always been for kids, family, and social causes.
This film's mandate is to bring families back together during this Christmas season. "Hi Noel" is my first feature film. We were blessed to have the support of many cast and crew in the production process.
This is also Singapore's first Christmas movie. I hope you will find this Christmas movie heartwarming.
